Achaemenid Bronze Punched Bar Bracelet, c. 550–330 BC
Ancient bronze open-form bracelet attributed to the Achaemenid period, the era of the First Persian Empire founded by Cyrus the Great. The bracelet is formed from a D-section bronze bar with tapering open ends and a series of punched pellet decorations across the outer face.
The surface shows a green-blue ancient bronze patina with age-related deposits, oxidation, and wear. The punched decoration gives the bracelet a restrained geometric character typical of ancient metal adornment, while the open bar form reflects practical wearable design from the ancient Near Eastern and Iranian world.
The Achaemenid Empire, also known as the First Persian Empire, emerged under Cyrus the Great in the 6th century BC and lasted until the conquest of Alexander in 330 BC. At its height, it ruled a vast imperial territory from the eastern Mediterranean and Egypt toward Central Asia and the Indus region.
