Provenance & Authentication

Our goal is to describe each object clearly and to show what is documented, what is independently certified, and what remains an attribution.

Item-Level Information

Each product page should identify the period, material, condition, and known ownership or acquisition history when that information is available. When the documented chain of ownership is incomplete, the listing should not imply otherwise.

Independent Certification

Some coins and objects have been examined or graded by an independent third party. When this applies, the listing identifies the organization, grade, and certification number. Third-party certification applies only to the specific item and statements shown on that organization’s holder or record.

Attributed and Provisional Objects

Items without independent certification may be described as “attributed to,” “in the style of,” or “provisional.” These terms indicate that the description is based on available records, visible characteristics, comparative references, and seller research rather than a guarantee by an independent laboratory or institution.
